About Cyprus
From the breathtaking views of the Troodos Mountains to the beautiful scenery of the National Park of Cape Greko, Northern Cyprus is sure to delight. The mountains, home to Mount Olympus, offer hidden gems in the form of quiet and friendly villages, as well as architectural finds such as the Byzantine painted churches.
The National Park offers rocky coves, sea caves and wonderfully clear turquoise waters which are a haven for diving and snorkelling. Boat trips and water sports are also available near by, or you could book a cruise to Egypt.
Only an hour away from Kapparis, Nicosia is the commercial centre of Cyprus and within it’s old Venetian city walls you will find tucked away bazaars, Ottoman fountains and Gothic churches which have been turned into mosques.
However, if you are looking for something more energetic then try the bustling resorts of Protaris and Penera or, a short drive away, Agia Napa which is full of nightclubs and cafés and boasts a beautiful harbour as well as Europe’s largest waterpark. Closer to the apartment, the Famagusta area is full of interesting places to visit.
From Dhennia you can view the ghost town of Varosha where local cafés are happy to hire you binoculars. At Paralimni there is a mixture of old and new with a lovely town square and church as well as modern stores; an interesting place to people watch as the locals sit outside the little tavernas and cafés.
Of course, there are also beautiful white sandy beaches, offering safe paddling for the young ones and snorkelling for the older ones, the bluest of blue skies, wonderful sunny days and warm evenings which all add up to a wonderful holiday destination for all the family.
